If an addiction to pornography does not hurt someone’s spiritual, mental and emotional life, I don’t know what will. Praying for deliverance from addiction is a key to begin breaking the power of its hold and learning to regain the control of your thoughts and desires. We pray, invoking the power of God to resist temptation, understanding that real liberty is available through His enabling. The Bible teaches us that when we are weak, His grace is strong, and there is a way of escape for every temptation. Be with me, O Loving Father I lift my heart and soul to your grace and tender mercies. I admit that although I have flaws, You find me flawless and love me none the less. Thank you for giving me the mind and the strength to walk in who You said You are in me as a child of God. Anchor my soul in Your love, erase the shame and the fear, and cover me with peace and hope. Lord my Keeper, I pray that You will safeguard me, even from the temptations of the world. Help my heart and mind to be captivated by You so I will not be enticed to list left or right. Help me to have the power and the mindset to stand up to and defeat, against the temporary attractions of the world. Assist me to cling to Your Word, hiding under Your assurances and taking courage in Your Spirit. Enfold me, O God, in Your dwelling place, and lead my steps as I seek to honor You with my life. Amen.
